The minister of education of the Western Cape, Mr Cameron Dugmore, visited the former Sotswebhu(?) of the ANC, Tony Yengeni, who decided to do the work of an umphakathi(?) at some school in Cape Town. Mr Gert Witbooi, who spoke to Dugmore, confirmed that he visited him at the Siyazama school for disabled students at Gugulethu
From what I found on the Internet I guess that uSotswebhu means party leader (or "chief whip" ...). Is this the commonly used term or is it ANC speak?
Secondly, considering the background, umphakathi seems to mean volunteer here, whereas in general it means citizen, right?
